The English singer Alondra Bentley, who was born in Lancaster in 1983, lives in Murcia since she was four years old.

Her first album "Ashfield Avenue" is a paragon of sensitivity, candor, feelings and stands out due to bittersweet lyrics and impressive references. Alondra Bentley will be playing at the SOS 4.8 festival in her "hometown" Murcia.

Amable

His career as a professional DJ began in 1985 at the “Depósito Legal” in Barcelona. He edited his music for various compilations, like “Razzmatazz” (’03-’07) or “Clubbin'”, by selecting and mixing the different and important themes of each year in the alternative scene. With his unique style and technique he manages to combine rock, pop and electronic music; always with a little wink to the alternative music scene. Anni B Sweet

This young singer from Malaga is one of the best Spanish newcomers. In 2009 she introduced her first album "Start, Restart, Undo" in cooperation with one of the most important indie labels from Spain: Subterfuge. You can hear her sweet  Indi-Folk at our partner festival the SOS4.8.

Crystal Castles

Producer Ethan Kath and singer Alice Glass, known as Crystal Castles from Ontario, are known for their special sound, which can be described as unpredictable and melancholic. BBC says, that when you listen to Crystal Castles you"cast adrift as a deafening vortex of pain without a safety net. You feel you can do anything, but that none of this will have no meaning, no importance. Delorean

Toma, Ekhi, Unai and Igor are Delorean, a Band from Zarautz (Basque Country)  - nowadays famous for their great dance music. In 2009 Delorean released the EP "Ayrton Senna", which was highly recognised and are curently working on their next album. Delorean will play on stage at SOS4.8 this year!

Dorian

 “La Ciudad subterranea”, the band's latest album, keeps its tension through music and narration until the last song.  With this album Dorian forges ahead of the bands, which are able to make money with their music without having to submit to the market criteria.Dorian’s secret lies in the combination of traditional Spanish pop and contemporary electronic music.                                                        They will be playing at the SOS 4.8 Festival!

Franz Ferdinand

The SOS4.8 festival is always bringing the best of bands to Murcia. This year our partner festival is bringing Franz Ferdinand on stage. Franz Ferdinand, formed in Glasgow in 2002, consists of Alex Kapranos (lead vocals and guitar), Bob Hardy (bass guitar), Nick McCarthy (rhythm guitar, keyboards and backing vocals) and Paul Thomson (drums, percussion and backing vocals). The awardwinning band has sold more than 5 million copys of their debut album and will be travelling the globe this year giving concerts in Australia and South America.

Hot Chip

Their new album “One Life Stand” was just released! Inkeys

Inkeys actually is a product of coincidences, the result of a meeting of its four members who originally came together to discuss other topics. After a break of two years they were reunited again and started a new project of independent rock. They participated in a lot of Festivals and Exhibitions of alternative music in Murcia and in the rest of the country. If not them, who else could be the most promising band of the Spanish Indie scene? And that is a big compliment knowing that we are currently undergoing the golden age of the Spanish indie scene.  Their latest album “Heavenly Hell” just underlines this compliment again, even though it stands at the end of a bitter struggle between Luis Alberto Segura and the other band members. La Bien querida

Ana Fernández-Villaverde started her songwriter-career in 2005 and just two years released her first record, which everyone was addicted to from the moment they first listened to it. Los Planetas

With three releases - “Principios Básicos de Astronomía” (2009),  “Cuatro Palos” (2009) and “Períodos de Rotación“ (2010) in cooperation with La Bien Querida - Los planetas defend their informal title of beeing the most important indie band in the history of Spain. Mambo Jambo+Myriam Swanson

The Catalan quartet, Mambo Jambo, was founded 2009 in Barcelona by Rhythm’n’Blues and Rock’n’Roll musicians. Dani Nel•lo (tenor sax), Mario Cobo (guitar), Ivan Kovacevic (bass) and Anton Jarl (drums) play the most carefree R'n'B :Surf and Swing.  Myriam Swanson, an R’nB and Soul singer from Barcelona, completes the project . Mystery Jets

The release of their new album “Making Dens” catapulted the band Mystery Jets to the top of the best indie bands in the UK. One reason for that is the strong support they’re getting of the magazine NME. They release three albums so far in cooperation with their label Rough Trade, which has artists like Antony and the Johnsons, Belle and Sebastian, Micachu, The Strokes and The Libertines under contract. The Horrors

Also playing at this years edition of SOS 4.8 is one of the best punk-rock bands of this time and age: The Horrors - Faris Badwan, Tomethy Furse, Joshua Von Grimm, Coffin Jow and Spider Webb formed their band in 2005 and quickly gained fame from London to all around the world.

The Leadings

It all began with the idea of Paco Ganga (DJ Suiza) and Sergio Moreno of pooling together their idea and interpretations of electronic music.  The two DJs from Murcia decided to expand this project by including the singer Juan Torrano and with that managed to complete their band to a music project that make people dance on the one hand but also make them think about important messages on the other hand. Start dancing and singing at the SOS 4.8!

The Magic Numbers

The London Band of four brothers, Romeo Stodart and Michele Stodart and Angela Gannon and Sean Gannon, released their debut album “The Magic Numbers” in 2005, which surprised both audience and critics. Its combination of pop and pop-rock with melodic structures made them famous all around Europe. Their new album “Those the Brokes” was produced by Alge Sigurdsson (Björk, Bonnie Prince Billy,etc.) and mixed by Ben Hillier (Doves, Blur, Depeche Mode, etc.). The Sunday Drivers

These five started their band history in 1999 but started their phenomenal career years later after being booked by December Productions. They took everyone by surprise with their great live show, seen at the Villa de Bilbao and other festivals.
2009 they published their fourth album “The End of Maiden Trip", which was recorded live at the Red Led studios in Madrid with José María Rosillo as their producer.

UFFIE (Ed Banger)

The new “Queen of MySpace” Anna-Catherine Hartley, better known as Uffie, combines synthpop, electro, hip hop, and dance in her debut album "Sex, Dreams & Denim Jeans" , which is going to be released early this year. Varry Brava

The band name of Aaron Seaz, Vicente Illescas, the brothers Frank and Fede Gas and the vocalist Oscar Ferrer, consists of a combination of the name “Barry White” and a song of Mina. With their unique style of music – hedonistic pop influenced by italopop, disco and new wave music – Varry Brava can be called the most promising newcomers in the music scene (not just in Murcia).
