The EuroGlobe Short Film Contest 101 Seconds Film Award goes to
"Act Now Plastic Beats!"
This short film intends to be a criticism on current humankind’s destructive conscience and technology race, which are reflected on man’s hand power melted with machinery helping to environmental damage. We have found inspiration in David and Goliath’s tale. The “fly” displays the counter-attack that lacking both in financial and political resources fights the actual machine governed reality and tries to turn it off. (On/Off). ‘Act Now’ is a call to all of us to help switch off “the machine”.
Plastic Beats
Plastic Beats consists of Alberto Segado and Jose María Andreu. The two met at the University of Murcia where they studied Audiovisual Communication & Advertising and PR. After graduation, Alberto continued his formation in Barcelona, where he specialized in motion graphics. As for Jose María, he specialized in direction and production, but switched focus after two years to self-educate him in 3D.
In Murcia, September 2009, Alberto and Jose María decided to create Plastic Beats, based on a distinct philosophy: freedom of creativity. Their first production, “Act Now”, exclusively produced for the EuroGlobe festival, was completed in 2010. At the moment, they work on different commercial and creative productions.
