Vendredi 13

Vendredi 13 is a project in French that mixes electronic sound, guitar, drums and spoken lyrics. This trio journeys through our stories, looking at those little things, this creaking, while attempting to galvanize the everyday life. The Vendredi13 project is atypical – but only a little.

Baloji

After a poetical and militant adventure within Starflam, a hip hop figurehead in Belgium, Baloji is now a solo artist. On the stage Baloji surrounds himself with an afro-soul-jazz band formed by Congolese and African musicians from Brussels. In a diversity of styles with his unique voice, Baloji refers to his own environment and seeks to reconciliate and wake up the spirits in all kinds of sensual sounds.

Lucy Lucy!

Discovered by the Brussels label 62tv Records (The Tellers, Girls in Hawaii…) a few months ago the young artists from Lucy Lucy! recorded quickly their first EP that was entitled “Morning Can Wait” (released in September 2009). It gathers 6 concise and catchy titles that were produced by Fabrice Detry, the Leader of Austin Lace and shrewd sound technician of The Tellers. They rock!

Superamazoo

These protégés of Gambeat (bass player of Manue Chao, Radio Bemba) are full of energy and very generous. With two singers, two brass instruments (saxophone and trumpet), one guitarist (and yes: neither bass nor drums) SUPERMAZOO surprises and is out of tune thanks to the musical mosaic they perform/put forward. Reggae, Drum’n Bass, Electro, Rock – all tunes are mixed together for a radical result without reserve.
